Possible New Resident Evil Game for 3DS Spotted
A post on NintendoWorldReport claimees to have seen evidence of a forthcoming new Resident Evil title for the Nintendo 3DS system on a post on Digital Spy—which has since been removed from the site. Apparently the game is tentatively called Resident Evil: Degeneration-Damnation-Downfall 3D (ugh…there’s that “Dream-Drop-Distance” type junk again).
The post speculates that “Degeneration” and “Damnation” refer to movies that would be on the game cart, while “Downfall” is the actual new game, that would take place between Resident Evil 5 and the as-yet unreleased Resident Evil 6. The game would star Claire Redfield “as she witnessed the downfall of humanity.” Which, you know, would be kind of a bummer.
As with many rumors of games that have been popping up in recent days and weeks, it’s entirely possible that we’ll hear about this game at E3 next month. And considering that Resident Evil 6 is going to be one of Capcom’s tent-pole titles for the fall this year, it stands to reason that a game based before that one takes place would be released sometime before it hits. YES.
My prediction—August. Or maybe September. We’ll see…
