Double Fine Using Moai for Kickstarter Adventure Game Project
As the Double Fine Kickstarter phenomenon has come and gone, it’s time that the backers of the project begin to see where and how their money is being put to use. With production on the game in full steam, many have been wondering how Double Fine is building the darn thing, and now we have the answer: Moai.
As you’ll see in the video, Moai is an open-source development environment for 2D-rendered video games and animation projects. Using this kit, Double Fine is able to get their concepts and ideas up and running in a matter of minutes or hours – instead of days or weeks, if they were to go the “from scratch” route.
If you’ve ever wanted a surface-level peek into how games are actually made, this will certainly provide a solid introduction.
Watch the video, learn you some.
