Announcement: Valve Has No E3 Announcements

Over on ValveTime, a forum user going by the handle Tabernumse, has supplied an e-mail he got from Gabe Newell, the big boss over at Valve. He writes,

“Dear Gabe. If you announced Half-Life 3 at E3, I will literally attach a valve to my eyeball, and go around with it for a year, to honor the awesomeness of you and your company.

Thank you. That is all.”

Somehow, Gabe was not enticed by this proposition, and replied thusly:

“We are not announcing anything at E3. Really. We are not announcing Half-Life 3 or Portal 3 or Left 4 Dead 3. We are going to be showing stuff already knows about (CS:Go, Dota 2, 10’UI,…).”

And just in case that wasn’t confirmation enough that Valve wasn’t going to be blowing your mind at E3, ValveTime went ahead and asked Newell himself, asking if the e-mail that was sent to them was actually real.

Gabe’s response:

“Yes, it’s real.”

BAAAAAM

So there you go. No surprise announcements about the third installment in anything of anything ever.

Unless, of course, this is all just to throw us off the trail! ZOMG!

    Ladies and gentlemen I present to you…… Half Life three…..the new rumor king, the only rumor that persists because valve refuses to finish their trilogy, this does not mean the trilogy was not finished, due to reason beyong their control this only means that they simply refuse to work on it. good for you valve, I hope you enjoy the golden ear whisper trophy.

    Disclaimer: this does not exist, tho we want you to beleive it exist and that we are trolling you due to our previous versions, but we actually mean that it does not exist.
