Someone’s probably gonna get fired for this. Or, at least, a stern talking-to. Tonight, during the NBA Playoffs, Activision is set to make a BIG ANNOUNCEMENT. As it happens, though, savvy gamers have stumbled upon a website that announces Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 with a release date set for November 13, 2012.

This date jibes with the reservation cards that were spotted at Target a few days ago. Not only that, but the site has links to a new game trailer on YouTube—which, unfortunately, is set strictly to private. But hey! You can still see one of the frames from the trailer before the video decides not to play. Check it out…helicopters!

Those whirlybirds are gonna be pretty sweet when the trailer launches tonight, I reckon. Here’s the official description of the trailer on the website as of now:

“Pushing the boundaries of what fans have come to expect from the record-setting entertainment franchise, Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 propels players into a near future, 21st Century Cold War, where technology and weapons have converged to create a new generation of warfare. Pre-order today.”

New, near-future setting…intriguing…

Hey–how about some box art from the pre-order page?

A few weeks ago, we also had rumors of what fans could expect in the new game’s multiplayer modes, so don’t hesitate to check that out right here.

What do you think? Excited about a new CoD game? Bored that there’s a new one so soon after the last one? Lay it on me.

Sticks and stones, ballistic, crossbow, tomahawk, is all I need. I wonder what we’ll get since its future setting. I loved black ops compared to mw3 so I’m hoping for the best

actually doesn’t look half bad. I didn’t even say this for MW2 or 3. People wanted change and they get change.
