UPDATED: Sony Confirms God of War Ascension Multiplayer

By Brian P Rubin | 30 April 2012 | 1 Comment

Over on the PlayStation Blog today, God of War: Ascension’s producer, Todd Papy, has confirmed that the game will offer a new multiplayer mode. Papy has joined PS Blogmeister Jeff Rubenstein (no relation) to talk about the game, as well as the new multiplayer mode, in a live broadcast that started at 8 a.m. Pacific…and I can’t embed the stream on this page, try as I might.

(UPDATE! Instead of posting the LiveStream I mention above, I’ve got our own preview of God of War: Ascension, which went live today. It’s got to be WAY BETTER because, like, we’re the best and stuff. FOR REAL.)

But anyway, here’s what Papy had to say on the blog about the mode:

God of War: Ascension will feature a ground-breaking new online multiplayer mode. We wouldn’t do multiplayer in God of War unless we knew we could do it right. That’s why I’m extremely excited to finally be able to talk publicly about it and share all the gory details with you live.”

Hopefully the blog will make the multiplayer gameplay footage available after the stream’s over so we can offer it to you—we’ll update this post when and if we have something to show you. In the meantime, as of this writing, the stream’s still going on, and you can check it out right here.

I face palmed when I saw the end of the post… I guess us “commoners” aren’t good enough for gameplay footage, huh?!?!
