While there have been lots and lots of Kickstarter-based video game projects coming out ever since Double Fine made history with their hugely successful campaign, not all of them have reached their goals. The one for Shadowrun Returns, however, has—shooting past their goal of $400,000 and getting over $1.8 million in pledged funding. Jordan Weisman, the creator of Shadowrun, was joined by the Harebrained Schemes team behind the new project in a video celebrating the project’s success.

More information can be found on the project over at Shadowrun.com, while Harebrained Schemes’ own page for the project can be found right here.

The project earned $1,836,447 through Kickstarter, while it managed to also raise $59,325 through PayPal donations alone. Pretty impressive haul, really. The game’s estimated to be released in January 2013. Congratulations, folks!
