It’s been a few weeks since the Double Fine Adventure Kickstarter destroyed Kickstarter records and blew the minds of millions with its unexpected crowd-funding success. It seems those few weeks haven’t been wasted though – as interesting new footage has cropped up online of something quite adventurey – and it came from none other than Double Fine itself.

Uploaded onto the Double Fine Vimeo channel last night was a 30 second clip of what seems to be the early makings of an adventure game, but we can’t say for sure. Later last night, however, the video was pulled down quite hastily for no clear reason.

No one from Double Fine has commented on the mysterious uploading and removing of the footage yet, so as newsy type people, we’re sitting in the dark.

However, Kotaku came to the rescue and snagged some neat snapshots of the footage in motion. Shortly after writing this post though, an individual by the moniker of zppzxoox uploaded a YouTube version of the vimeo video posted earlier. You’re a smart lad, and we thank you for it.

So, let’s get to speculating – is this the early makings of the Double Fine Adventure game? Who is the bearded lumberjack hipster-man in the video?

AND WHAT IN BLUE BLAZES is glowing ever-so-brightly in that farm house over the ridge?

This reminds me so much of the old times when I played Grim Fandango (one of the finest games in history). I really hope that this game will still feel like the good old adventure games of Lucasarts.
