Sony Releasing Scarlet Red PS3 Next Month in UK

Man, the PlayStation 3 is a pretty great machine, but the matte black finish? SO BORING YOU GUYS, AMIRITE?

Fortunately, Sony is really being smart about reinvigorating their finances by releasing a sexy scarlet red PS3 console in the UK, a SKU that was formerly a Japan-only exclusive. The system is being released on May 4, and will cost £50 more than the standard PlayStation 3. Because not only will the new color (I’m sorry, “colour”) drive system sales, but jacking the price up will really help, too.

No word yet on whether or not the red system will make its way to North America. If it does, I hope they charge an extra hundred dollars. Just because.

So, yeah. If you have an inexplicably red TV (or maybe just a red sofa or something) and you’ve been dying to pay extra for a matching game console, this is the system for you. Good job, Sony. Keep up the good work.

    In my opinion it’s idiotic to sell the same console only colored in red for extra 50 pounds.Nice move sony.

      If you was a smart ass, and Just want a red cover and your one is shit, buy the cheapest one and put your HDD in it.
