New Star Trek Game Coming Next Year

In case you didn’t know, I really like Star Trek. For example, this was my costume for Halloween TWICE:

Why, yes, that is a homemade dead-red-shirt costume. Why, yes, it is awesome.

So when I saw a press release today featuring the above trailer for Namco Bandai’s new Star Trek game, based on the rebooted universe helmed by J.J. Abrams, I got pretty excited. My big problem? I have to wait until 2013. WHAT KIND OF HORSESHIT IS THAT I WANT THE GAME NOW.

Anyway, I want this game. I don’t care that it’s all gun-fighting and base-jumping. It looks pretty cool even as just a game–the fact that it’s got phasers and spaceships and junk just makes me want it even more. It’s coming out next year for Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC. I just hope that they manage to work this scene into the game:

The Gorn is the best. But not as THE BEST as Mugatu!

But no matter if you’re facing Gorn, Mugatu, or even a simple country doctor, one thing is important to remember: No blah-blah-blah. Kirk will have none of it.
