Announced this morning was the worldwide release date for 343 Industries’ upcoming blockbuster, Halo 4 – set to release on November 6, 2012.

Though we’ve known that Halo 4 was prepping for launch sometime this holiday season, this is the first time we’ve been issued a solid date for the game. This is also, notably, the first Halo game (aside from Halo Wars) that isn’t produced by Bungie, creator of the Halo franchise.

“We are beginning a new saga with Halo 4 and embarking on a journey that will encompass the next decade of Halo games and experiences,” said Phil Spencer, corporate vice president of Microsoft Studios.

“Millions of fans worldwide have been eagerly awaiting the opportunity to step back into the boots of Master Chief, and, with Halo 4 leading the charge, we’re confident 2012 will be the most successful year in Xbox history.”

To celebrate the launch of Halo 4 this fall, Microsoft has teamed up with TBS’s Conan O’Brien to release a special Halo-related segment on his show ‘Conan’. The piece will air tonight at 11 p.m. PDT, with more details available on the Conan website and twitter feed.

In addition to launch details, Game Informer has some mad content up relating to Halo 4’s multiplayer details, including an awesome video showcasing some never before seen gameplay footage.

Go check out the video now to find out all the juicy details about story in multiplayer, customizable loadouts, and all-new modes specific to Halo 4.

Exciting, no?

The game is coming out on Election Day? That’s bizarre.

Honestly, why would it matter? Master Chief for president. :P

Ballsy move. Why? Well, doesn’t Call of Duty come out every year at around the beginning of November? Surely this must have a meaning of some sort. I look forward to how the sales turn out since if you don’t have the cash, you can’t simply get both, but rather one or the other. Hrmmmm…

No thanks. Halo was ruined after Halo ODST came out. As much as Call of Duty is hated, I’ve had more fun and better memories in Black Ops than I’ve had in Halo Reach and ODST. I’ll buy BlOps2 instead.

someone doesn’t do their homework, Halo reach and odst where great games even if one is a prequel and the other is an expansion and Black ops is known for being the worst cod game other then MW3

Seeing how Microsoft is cannibalizing things that made Halo into it’s own beast for a more COD-centered game… Who gives a shit?
