Going off the momentum of the announcement that Obsidian Entertainment would be assisting InXile in their attempt to make Wasteland 2 a reality, the team has released the first concept art for the game.

Brian Fargo and his team at InXile announced that if the Kickstarter project passed $2.1 million in funding, they would be working with the creators of Fallout: New Vegas to design the game. As of this publication, the project is at $2,255,364 of their $900,000 goal, with a mere six days to go.

With such a large budget, the team has pledged an additional Mac and Linux version of the game, as well as hiring a larger team to help smooth out the game’s edges.

Wasteland 2 is slated for release in October of 2013.

I’ve never played the first Wasteland(and from screenshots I’ve seen, I don’t think it would appeal to me all too much) but something about this one makes me really want to check it out.
