Dark Souls for PC Confirmed

This weekend, a post on the NeoGAF forums posted details from the German magazine PC Action, which confirms rumors that Namco Bandai would be making a PC version of Dark Souls. The new version will be called the “Prepare to Die Edition,” a fitting subtitle given the game’s legendary reputation for brutal difficulty. In addition, the post notes that the PC version will have new bosses, but will otherwise be pretty much a faithful adaptation of the console version of the game.

Apparently the game will hit PCs this August, and will have gamepad support, and the two new bosses will be Guardian of the Tomb and Black Dragon. Highlight the blank text if you want to see the names—or don’t if you’d prefer to be surprised. I don’t care—DO WHAT YOU WANT.

The news comes as something of a victory to the 100,000 or so PC gamers who signed a petition urging Namco Bandai for a port. Back in January, the movement swelled pretty quickly, prompting an enthusiastic reaction from the company, as well as hints that the announcement of a port would be forthcoming. And here we are today.

Well, PC gamers? Have you popped, like, five boners already? That’s what happens, right?

This is my most favorite game of all time… and now I have the pleasure of buying it twice :D
As soon as I get a good computer, I’m sure this game will look GORGEOUS on it!!!

And then From Soft won’t port another game to PC again because this might get pirated into the ground.

  Hardly, the most fun I’ve had while playing Dark Souls is the online play. If they want to pirate a game, they will miss out on half the content. And who cares?! I bought a copy of DS for both xbox and ps3, I’d pirate it if I didn’t respect From Soft for this very well made game.
