amazon on ps3

So many options for watching stuff on video game consoles—and now there’s yet another. If you’re a member of Amazon Prime, that means you’ve got access to Amazon Instant Video selection. And if you’ve got a PlayStation 3 hooked up to that ol’ internet, that means you can watch Amazon Instant Video content on the console. This is the first time a dedicated and official app has let you do that, meaning that the quality’s probably pretty good.

The news comes via PlayStation Lifestyle, which explains that the application can be accessed under “TV/Video Service” in the Cross Media Bar. Pretty dang good, I think.

Of course, since I have PlayOn installed on my computer, I’ve had access to Amazon Instant Video for a long, long time…but that’s just me and my awesome sauce. Even still, I’ll be taking advantage of the PS3’s capability so I can watch content without having to keep my laptop on in the other room. Pretty slick.

… until you found your mom there… And realized it wasn’t a Skyrim set… awkward…
