Star Wars: Battlefront Files on Raccoon City Disc

For everyone who gets mad at Capcom for charging money for stuff that’s already on game discs, here’s an interesting twist: apparently the folks over at BetaGames have found evidence that developer Slant Six was at one time working on a Star Wars: Battlefront title. It seems as though files containing text and artwork for an in-progress game were found on the disc for Resident Evil: Operation Raccoon City, in a folder called “Luke.”

The images were posted over on NeoGAF, since BetaGames requires a membership to access all of the content. A post over on Eurogamer adds that the new Battlefront is now being handled by Spark Unlimited.

Take a look…and think about what could’ve been…and what may yet still come to be…

    Thank God, I’ve been waiting forever to catch a glimpse of what might be “Star Wars Battlefront 3″. Almost never thought I would see it.

    I don’t think I’ll ever understand why they don’t get right on these popular franchises with a good history game developer. It be like if they didn’t make a Halo 3, in my opinion.

    You know, you have to wonder why Lucasarts hasn’t pushed this through for approval yet. It’s been years since any good Battlefront game has emerged and the community of fans is still as rampant and hungry for a new installment. It seems like a no-brainer, considering the level of technology we now have with the 360/PS3 and PC’s as badass as they are. Hopefully they’ll see the fan reaction to this leak and take the hint.
