Notch Starting Work on New Game This Summer

Not working on Minecraft apparently frees up a good chunk of time, or so infers Markus “Notch” Persson , creator of the aforementioned block building simulator and founder of Mojang Specifications. So much time in his schedule has he cleared that he’s currently in the decision making process for which of his three development projects will become next in the young list of games for Mojang to create.

Adorning a stylish suit (and no hat oddly), Persson spoke about the decision with VG 24/7 after the recent BAFTA ceremony, where he honorably received the BAFTA Special Award.

“I’m kinda halfway through one (a game), started somewhat the engine on one and prototyping a third, so I hope to pick a project by this summer.

I think we’re gonna stick to the same Minecraft and keep adding to it.

I’m not really a huge fan of making sequels. I think games can be made in a different way, but it can keep living for a long time.”

So instead of Minecraft 2, expect steady updates and refinements to your current copy of Minecraft.

With Minecraft officially out and the upcoming Scrolls on the way, albeit their inability to make a sequel, our guess is as good as any – but we’re going to bet on a complete rip-off of Diner Dash, except with a focus on selling Fedoras to anxious customers instead of managing a restaurant full of…anxious customers.

You spelled Persson wrong twice, though in the tags you don’t… What’s up with that?
