Today, Atlus and Cyanide released six new screens from the forthcoming Game of Thrones RPG, which will be out for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360.

The press release describes a bit about the plot, noting that you’ll be taking on the role of Alester Sarwyck, heir of House Sarwyck in Castlewood, a wholly new region in the world of the George R. R. Martin fantasy series made specifically for the game, it seems. The House Sarwyck was loyal to House Targaryen, the regime that ruled the seven kingdoms before the start of the book series. As such, it seems as though the game’s developers, Cyanide, is giving you a good excuse to find a side to choose when the fighting breaks out.

I haven’t yet seen any of the show, but I’m in the midst of book three of the novels…so I’m definitely interested in checking this thing out when it drops in May.

I’ve watched the whole series and am on the second book. I hope that this game remains cannon, because otherwise I’ll have to start burning the books and making death threats in the form of annoying youtube videos. I should consider buying a Guy Fawkes mask…

You’re right–you HAVE to burn the books. It’s the only way they’ll listen…the only way they’ll UNDERSTAND.
