Two weeks ago, we reported on the Australian Ratings Board outing forthcoming Kinect title Project Draco’s final name as Crimson Dragon, and it seems as though that was right on the money. A post on Andriasang reports that Microsoft has confirmed the name as legit, and has started releasing some new information and details about the game to boot with a playable version at an event in Japan.

The post does readers the great favor of translating the Japanese article on Famitsu about the event, explaining that the game is set to be released on Xbox 360 sometime in 2012. Developed by Panzer Dragoon mastermind Yukio Futatsugi, the game is an on-rails (or, in this case, on-dragon) shooter, where you’ll make real-life moves to guide your dragon around obstacles and attacks. The post notes that there are lots of attacking options, letting you use either or both of your hands, using the right hand for locking onto enemies with homing attacks and the left hand for powerful single attacks.

The post has plenty more details where those came from—and the following screen shots. While I’m pretty cold to most Kinect titles at this point (my arms get tired, and I really like sitting), I’m hopeful that this game might actually be pretty fun. I mean, if Skyrim’s taught us anything, it’s that the kids love dragons.

This should have been day 1 for kinect. I’ve spent over a year just staring at the damn thing. I needs to kill things with my bare hands…
