EA Job Posting Points to Crysis 3?

In a posting on EA’s career network, a new job ad is seeking a video director to work with Crytek to capture game footage, create video assets, and “challenge the paradigm of video game trailer creative.”

Specifically, the ad (found by AllGamesBeta) points out that knowledge of the CryEngine (the engine used for the Crysis series) would be an asset.

As the last entry in the franchise Crysis 2 sold upwards of three million copies since its March 2011 release date, a sequel isn’t too much of a farfetched argument. It’s also worth noting that Crysis 2 was the most pirated game of last year, which goes to show that a fair amount of people enjoyed this game, paid or not.

Is Crysis 3 on the horizon? It’s certainly possible, but Crytek could also have an interest in using their CryEngine tech for a brand new IP, yet to be revealed.

If anything’s for sure, the company has its hands full. With the multiplatform Homefront 2 and Kinect-centered Ryse both in development from Crytek, it will be interesting to see what announcements come out of the studio next.

I certainly enjoyed both Crysis games but I hope 3 will focus more on the wide open areas and multiple engagement options of the first game.

crysis was awesome. Crysis 2 was not that great. Even tough “strategic approaches” on combat areas were included, they were not as good as crysis 1. The whole game just felt lke it was designed for console. As far as new ip goes, im all for that. Lets see where they are gonna squeeze the word “cry” in next.

You know it says the CryEngine, but that does not necessarily mean it’ll be Crysis 3. A LOT of other games uses the CryEngine and this article does not justify anything at all how it’ll be Crysis 3. You guys jump to conclusions, too much.

I know, This article is like saying the same about Unreal Engine, Oh no, a Gears of War spin-off must be on it’s way!

Liked Crysis, liked Crysis 2, hope they go back to a more open level design and make it more interesting.

Well… It would be a CRISIS if this sequel doesn’t show up soon :)

Indeed, but we should hope that this game will RYSE above the competition.

Correct. These games will need to accept the CALL OF DUTY when it comes to delivering awesomeness. >:D

Oh, this looks like it’s going to have a MASS EFFECT on the gaming industry… XP

I want Ryse, if it is done correctly, and that is the only reason I want a kinect.
