New Gears 3 DLC, “Forces of Nature” Hitting XBL on March 27

A post on Gametrailers offers lots and lots of details from Epic Games’ latest, greatest downloadable content for Xbox 360 exclusive Gears of War 3. The new DLC pack, called “Forces of Nature,” drops on March 27, and features three new maps: Aftermath, Artillery, and Cove. There are also two map-remakes, Jacinto and Raven Town. All of the maps, it seems, will be set “in the middle of, or amidst the aftermath of, a natural disaster in order to fit with the theme.”

The DLC will also feature four special weapons hidden throughout the maps, called “Elemental Cleavers.” These are special weapons that do elemental damage—like ice and whatnot—when you use them. Exciting. Nature. Forces of Nature. It all makes sense.

The DLC also features four new character models (which are at the top of this post), five new weapon skins at start, and two unlockable weapon skins. The post doesn’t say how much it costs, but it’s probably 800 Microsoft Points, considering that’s how much the last DLC pack, “Fenix Rising,” cost.

    I’ve seen the character with the goggles on once in a game, I was wondered who it was. How is it possible!?

    it is mechanic baird and it was a exclusive character you could have got from preordering the game but now its in the dlc

    what was the point of pre ordering if their releasing every exclusive character for free???

      They aren’t free dude. You have have to pay for the DLC lol. Everyone who got the exclusive characters got them for free because the game was 60 bucks for everybody.

    The characters are all LE like Cole and Savage Kantus they are not the originals from the first day they were actually released, these are re-color and yes it will cost 800 msp with achievements so yeah Gears 3 will the 1st game to have 2000 gamerscore and the Elemental Cleavers are the Easter Eggs of this DLC in which there is a achievement in finding and killing with them only on Horde/Beast. This is pretty cool wish they had a volcano based map to finish the Forces of Nature completely

    I think its a good idea that there giving the limited edition characters to the people who dident pre order the game because than its fair to all people.

    OK so at the top of the article where the four “new” DLC characters are shown, I see that Savage Marauder is included. Umm..I hope this is a simple mistake because the Savage Marauder was distributed in the last DLC, Fenix Rising. I was looking at the Fenix Rising DLC article just now and I noticed that the Savage Hunter was displayed instead of Marauder. So I’m hoping that the Savage Hunter will be released in the new DLC because everyone who purchased Fenix Rising already have Savage Marauder. So in short, it would be stupid as hell for Epic Games to release the Marauder twice to the public in different packages.

      It will be Savage Hunter, even though those pictures everywhere are savage marauders.

      Though instead of making some unknown Savage Hunter, I still miss Skorge. A lot.
