i have the 1st addition vita bundle and i love it just as much as my 3ds….It was definitely worth the price and game developers have no excuse not to make quality games for this thing…So far I only have uncharted & marvel vs capcom both of which are very nice games that show you what are capable on the vita..Im going to let you know right now you will need at-least the 8gb or 16 gb card because the 4gb card wont cutt it if you install or download a lot of games..If you have downloaded psp games there is also a way to map the right analog stick to the games for various features etc…So thats good for those who wanted to try out star wars battle front 2 & 3 etc…All in all this system is a nice investment and It would be an insult to make sony drop the price on this system..A lot of us had to remember that the wifi psvita & 3ds were once the same price but nintendo dropped the price of the 3ds because sony’s psvita had way more stuff going for it and Nintendo new they couldn’t compete with them.It was only a little after that that the 3ds sales started dropping a bit do to lack of software.

Excellent review. I really want to try this handheld out, but like you mention in the Bottom Line, is there really a reason to have one? I’ll want to play games on it, no doubt, but until there’s more games that justify the cash to purchase one, I’ll be waiting on the Vita.

can you text people that have phones with the wifi only version of the ps vita or 3g/wifi ps vita? I will definately get it if i can text my friends phone in someway

I dont see this comparing with smart-phones at all…SMart phone gamers who only game on there smart-phones are a different breed of gamer in my opinion.The gamers who own ps3′s,xbox 360′s,psp’s & nintendo 3ds’s however, I see needing this machine.This is the handheld that the psp should have been, with the addition of 3g connectivity ,touch controls(front & back),apps & superior graphics as close to the ps3 as can be.If you are a hardcore game, just get the vita, if your not than stick with your angry bird smart phone.

I’m getting the WiFi version, and I plan on using my phone for tethering if I’m out on the town and MUST get online with the Vita. I’m already paying for one data plan from one provider…why would I want to give AT&T my money?

Looking forward to getting system next week…
