100,000 More Diablo 3 Beta Invites Sent Out
In a post via the Battle.net blog, Blizzard announced that they have sent out 100,000 more invites to the closed Diablo 3 beta. If you’re a North American player with an active Battle.net account, chances are you might have a beta invite sitting in your inbox.
Blizzard also took a brief moment to caution its customers about the rise of phishing attempts related to the Diablo 3 beta, in that several illegitimate emails have been sent out in the past offering access to the beta, many of which attempted to steal personal information and associated player accounts.
Their solution to avoiding such occurrences is to only check your Battle.net account for an invite – anywhere else is a phishing attempt. If you receive an invite through email, delete it.
If you’re worried about not getting an invite, “never fear” says Blizzard. They have plans to run contests, promotions, and giveaways with beta codes as the predominant prizes.
Just be sure you’re opted-in to receiving beta invites in your Battle.net account, that’s pretty much crucial.
