Last week we told you about the opportunity to opt in to testing Bethesda’s updates and patches for Skyrim. Looks like Bethesda works fast, because now PC gamers can choose to participate in the patch beta tests on Steam right now.

According to a post on the Bethesda Blog, Steam users can opt in by following these simple steps:

  1. Log into Steam
  2. Click on Steam in the upper menu
  3. Select Settings
  4. Under the Account tab, go to the Beta Participation section and select Change.
  5. A drop down menu will appear. Select Skyrim Beta.
  6. Select OK.
  7. Steam will now restart. After Steam restarts, Skyrim will be updated to the Beta version currently available.

The post recommends that if you choose to participate, you should really make sure you back up your saved game so no unruly glitches demolish your progress. In addition, Bethesda also points out that you’re going to be playing “at your own risk,” so don’t get all MAD and HUFFY when your game gets borked because of some jive talking dragon.

It’s not ‘Our’ game. It’s ‘Their’ game and we pay for it in more ways than $$.
