Rocksteady Rumored to be Working on TMNT with Arkham Engine…
I want this to be true with just about every fiber of my being.
The two Batman games from British developer Rocksteady, and published by Warner Bros. Interactive, are two of my favorite games pretty much of all time. And their great sales and review scores would pretty much bear that out across the masses as well. So how would you feel, masses, if we found out that Rocksteady was following up 2011’s Arkham City with a game based on the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles franchise, using the same game engine?
That game would be pretty cool, I expect.
The rumor comes courtesy of industry writer Paul Gale’s website, PaulGaleNetwork, where he reports a rumor from unnamed sources. Apparently he’s heard through the grapevine (such that it is) that work has begun on bringing the game to the Wii U, Xbox 360, and PS3, and that it’ll feature characters from the old 1980s cartoon (such as, HEY, Rocksteady and Bebop). Supposedly named TMNT: The Manhattan Crisis, you would take control of the turtles and fight the Foot, yadda yadda yadda.
Gale is very keen to point out just how rumory this rumor is, noting that his readers should “take it as a rumor and not complain if it turns out false.”
In addition, our own Blog-meister Lawrence points out that Time Warner owns the rights to the turtles’ videos and whatnot, so it’s conceivable that the company has bought the rights to the franchise back from their previous owner.
I’m going to just go ahead and say that this is all probably bullshit—but the only reason I’m saying that is so I’m not horribly crushed when/if I find out it’s really not true. But good god, wouldn’t this be fantastic? UGH. I WOULD PLAY THIS GAME SO HARD.
Turtle power. Please.
And also this.
Maybe they’ll make Vanilla Ice an unlockable character.

I can see this being pretty good if done right…Also you can only assume 4 player co-op.If the fighting would be anything like the fighting in batman than this could make for the best ninja turtle game of all time…
It would so cool if we could go in our shells and get friends to pick us up and throw us at enemies c:
MAKE IT SO! My life shall be complete.
Why publish this it would be an awesome game but I will be so gutted if this doesnt get made.
I’d play this.
But, what I really want is for Rocksteady to be handed the Superman license and told to “FIX IT FIX IT FIX IT!”
It would make my life if they made it that there was 4-player drop in and out co-op campaign and stuff :D
Can we just have Bethesda, Valve, and Rocksteady make all the games from now on?
“I want this to be true with just about every fiber of my being.” Haha, couldn’t have said it any better myself. And, yeah, something about Rocksteady’s name has always made me think that this is probably something they’ve wanted to tackle since their inception.
I’ll be happy when they put out the next Batman game, I’m not a fan of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I really want Batman: Gotham City, or Batman: Beyond Arkham.
