Mojang Has Three Unannounced Games in the Pipeline

A post on PC Gamer today directed our attention over to Edge, where they’ve posted an interview with Minecraft-developer Mojang’s CEO, Carl Manneh. In the interview, Manneh explains that the developer has three as-yet unannounced, new titles being worked on right now, one of which being made by Markus “Notch” Persson himself.

“What it is today, I don’t think he knows himself,” Manneh is quoted as saying about Notch’s new project. “We certainly don’t. It’s probably going to be a lot of testing and playing around to see what works.”

Apparently the other two games are going to be announced and maybe released in the first half of this year, so let’s just put a “coming soon” next to those.

As to what form these games will take, it’s too soon to say—literally:

“They will have a big impact on Mojang over the next year. I can’t talk about them, because we have NDAs with companies. Otherwise, we want to be very transparent about everything we do, but in this case we can’t.”

The recently published, third-party-developed game from Mojang, Cobalt, is pretty different from Minecraft, and the already-publicized Scrolls is a collectible card game type thing (pretty sure). So what direction do you think Mojang will go in with these next titles? What could they possibly be?

I’ve got my fingers crossed for Mimecraft. It’s like Minecraft but, you know, with mimes.
