Xbox Profile Error is Fucking Up People’s Lives…Xbox Live(s), That Is

Since the new dashboard has appeared on Xbox 360 consoles across the world, there’s been some mixed reviews. I myself have found the new version of Netflix to be particularly irritating to navigate…but that’s insignificant compared to what some other Xbox gamers are experiencing.

According to a post on Joystiq today, some gamers have reported being unable to download their profiles and are consequently being locked out of Xbox Live’s online network and any content they’ve purchased online. The culprit? Something called “Error Code 801540B7.” Probably a sign of the coming monsterpocalypse in 2012. That’s just my theory, you guys.

Here’s what Microsoft had to say regarding the error messages:

“We have recently identified an Xbox Live profile data error that results in Error Code ’801540B7′ for a small number of Xbox Live members. The error instructs users to attempt to re-download their Xbox Live profile and directs them to customer service support for further assistance. We apologize for the inconvenience this has caused to our loyal Xbox Live members and are working to resolve the issue as soon as possible.”

This is some pretty frustrating stuff, especially considering the fact that Xbox Live is the only console network that charges gamers a subscription fee. Hopefully this will get worked out with a quickness. If not…well, I’ll just point out that the PlayStation 3’s never been more affordable. Food for thought for any disaffected Xboxers. I’M JUST SAYIN’.

Meh I just buy the 3 month pass now to play some Halo, other wise I’m on PC.
However my PS3 is in need of some loving, maybe I’l pick up Uncharted 3 soon.
