New Gears 3 DLC Map on Jan 17

Are you hungry for more Gears of War 3 stuff? I hope so, because it’s coming in a couple weeks to chainsaw your face off: on January 17, the new “Fenix Rising” Map Pack DLC is going to be available. According to a press release published by Epic Games this morning, the DLC will feature five new multiplayer maps, four new character skins, and a “new system that allows players to rank up through level 100 multiple times to unlock exclusive emblems and weapon skins.”

Apparently, every time you “re-up” past level 100 (which is now known as “bronze”) will award you a fancy new rank icon and exclusive weapon skin: plasma (Animated flowing plasma in gold), omen (Shiny, red Omen), and electric (Animated, golden electric shocks).

Then there’s the maps: Academy, Anvil, Depths, Escalation, and the Slab; and new character skins: Recruit Clayton, Trhashball Cole, Savage Marauder, and Savage Kantus. So, you know, that’s a lot of stuff for 800 Microsoft Points.
