Shortly after its impromptu announcement at the Spike VGA’s last week, Tony Hawk’s Pro Skater HD has seen heavy speculation over the return (or lack thereof) of the original, masterful soundtrack from the series.

According to Activision’s Dan Amrich, the possiblity is definitely there, but you shouldn’t get your hopes up. Music licensing is only good for one game at a time, and the process would have to happen again, even though it’s an HD remake of an old game with the same music.

Activision spokespeople have been suggesting left and right that users load up the game’s facebook page and make it clear how badly you want the soundtracks to return. It doesn’t guarantee an outcome by any means, but it may influence the team to push for re-licensing of the associated music.

Also, here’s an obligatory “I’m totally nostalgic and stuff about hearing Superman by Goldfinger again ” reference. It wouldn’t be a THPS HD article without it.

I will cry if the original soundtrack isn’t there. Guerilla Warfare in THPS2 was my jam.
