Metal Gear Solid: Rising Reborn as Metal Gear Rising: Revengence, Developed by Platinum Games

Probably the biggest surprise of last nights VGAs event wasn’t the brand new titles, but the long awaited return of Metal Gear Solid: Rising. Nope, the fact that the game is still in development isn’t the big exciting news. Rather, I would say the name change to Metal Gear Rising: Revengence  and the announcement of Platinum Games taking over development duties is what is really shocking about this game.

Take a look at the trailer above. While I’m not feeling it outright, it does look like fun in a distinctly Japanese way, so I’ll grant them that. Hopefully the game doesn’t go outright insane, but this is a Metal Gear game, so Lord knows how things will turn out.

    Noo mgs rising looked so cool but now guessing from the trailer this game is gonna flop massively. Also with the fact that it’s rising:Revengence it means it’s gonna be a spin off series. All in all I don’t think it deserves to be a metal gear game

    At first I thought it seemed like short-life novel fun, but by the end I was pretty pumped. Shame it’s no going to be on the PC, it seems like a perfect match for a mouse.

    1. One of best trailers in past 20 years, with some 80′s rock n’ roll;
    2. At last there is some metal in Metal Gear :D
