Alternate headline: All of my dreams come true and also I get free ice cream. I’ll try to save my gushing until the end.

Another game joins StarCraft II and Heroes of Newerth in the NASL (North American Star League). Tribes: Ascend, the free to play first-person shooter, will be included in Season 3 of the incredibly popular eSports network. This is notable for a few reasons: Tribes: Ascend will be the first FPS on the NASL, and that means the first FPS on NASL is totally not Halo or Call of Duty.

That choice makes sense to me, because Tribes kicks ass and will be far more wathchable than Halo or Call of Duty. Also Tribes is one of my favorite shooters ever so that will be awesome. There’s no start date or details on Season 3 of the NASL yet, but we’ll have details on that as soon as possible.

Personal story time. I had my own Tribes 2 clan in high school. It wasn’t very good though. Anyway I’m really excited for this because Tribes has a great potential for exciting plays and a nearly unlimited skill ceiling.

You can find information about the NASL here and opt-in for the Tribes: Ascend beta here.

Good question! I was wondering that too and there hasn’t been an announcement.

Odds are they don’t know either…

      Unfortunately, no.

I don’t think the dual sticks could keep up with the twitch gameplay it requires.

I hope that it will be released by the time NASL Season 3 starts! Is Steam picking this one up for their Free-to-Play on the PC?
