Metal Gear Solid 5: Confirmed by Kojima

If you thought that Metal Gear Solid: Rising was the only MGS game in the works right now, then do we have news for you. Metal Gear Solid 5 has been formally announced by series creator Hideo Kojima.

As Metal Gear Solid is held mainly as a PlayStation franchise, it comes as no surprise that Kojima has an entire spread in the upcoming Official PlayStation Magazine UK.

What will he be discussing in this issue? The past, present, and future of the Metal Gear Solid franchise of course, including details on both Metal Gear Solid: Rising and Metal Gear Solid 5.

No more information is available at this time, but expect to learn more when the magazine lands at the end of this month.

But…the question remains, will the game include….SNAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAKEEEE?!

  Metal Gear was never a PS exclusive and MGS4 is now the only one that’s exclusive to Playstation.

    um, you are forgetting metal gear solid portable ops, portable ops plus, and the metal gear acid games. and the metal gear solid digital graphic novel if you can count that as a game

Hey, a new MGS movie! MGS4 was such an amazing film. I hated the part where you actually made stuff happen, but luckily those were pretty short.

You know, I find this ridiculous. Not the game and the sequel but the fact that Hideo Kojima is making a sequel to something that he said was the end. I remember reading soewhere that the creator himself said MGS4 will be the last in the series and now there is a SEQUEL? YOU”VE GOTTA BE KIDDING ME, MAN. While I can’ wait for MGS Rising, I can’t help but to say when will game developers will keep their word or speak the truth. I mean just two things, two things. First, as said above, Hideo Kojima said that 4 will be the last of the series and secondly, the ending of MGS4 was -beautiful- which I think is going to be ruined due to the sequel, dude. *sigh* I just hope MGS5 will be a good and go beyond expectations

  Kojima was going to end the series at mgs2?.. Did you forget that? He wanted to completely end the series then and added 4 amazing games to the series even after that.(Snake eater, Peace Walker, Guns of the Patriots.) Knowing Kojima, this “MGS5″ might be worth a good push, it might just be a completely new job for snake or even someone else. Either way I’m hoping it’ll open up this series to continue into so many different ways. But lets just see how for this rabbit hole goes..

Ah, some good comments here. I think when they meant the end of metal gear solid, they actually meant the end of snake’s story. But now, it’s a new generation. To be honest with you, I don’t think mgs series is getting enough respect. I have seen games like ..uncharted (good, awesome) and other games that get credit but not as epic as mgs series.

For me mgs series will always have that awesome feel to it. The thing is, that awe feeling in mgs has kinda vanished alittle. Well not alot but.. has kinda dminished.

I remember the time, during 2003-2004, we used to get that feeling, you know.. the Unknown, mysterious characters that we used to see in the mgs 3 trailers, when they first debuted. We always wondered about bigboss etc… I think we need to get that feeling back.. that mgs2 left us with.. the conspiracies.. the awesome epicness.

If it wasn’t for mgs series, we wouldnt be getting other epic games, really I mean it!

MGS5, bring it on, I’m looking forward to it, and also, peacewalker has done an awesome job too, bringing that epic feel to it once again!
