No Disc-Based “Super” Version of SFxT
One of the known issues with Capcom’s fighting games is the inevitable “Super” versions of all of their games. From the surprising addition of Ultimate Marvel vs Capcom 3 to the many editions of Street Fighter IV, it’s a modern replication of Capcom’s old school fighting game updates. In an interview with Gematsu, SFxT producer Yoshinori Ono confirmed that there will not be a disc-based version of Street Fighter x Tekken, rather that all updates will be tied to DLC and online updates like the Arcade Edition of SFIV.
Hopefully this will remain a concerted experiment by Capcom to see if digital updates will be the future of fighting games.
Additionally, we learned that SFxT will also support a brand new netcode for online play, hopefully decreasing even more of the laggy issues that can pop up in SSFIV and MvC3.
