Gotham City Imposters Beta and Release Date

I still have mixed feelings about Gotham City Imposters. While I relish the chance to play any game even remotely related to Batman, this one seems slightly too remote for my liking. In it, you choose either the Batman or Joker faction, and trick out your character with weird, pseudo-Saints Row-esque gear and gadgets, then FPS-everyone to death with guns and whatnot.

It seems just kind of like a wacky FPS that somehow decided to milk a tangentially related license they had lying around.

ANYWAY, despite all of that, the game does look pretty weirdly fun, and you’ll be able to play it on PC, PlayStation 3, or Xbox 360 starting on January 10, when the game will be available to download, says a press release published today. The open beta begins next month, so if nothing else, we’ll be able to get our hands around this thing before it gets released.

We’ll see. I’ll try to keep an open mind until I get to play the thing.
