Yesterday on the PlayStation Blog, Square Enix’s product manager Chrales McCarter announced the Winter of RPGs campaign on the PlayStation Network. Three classic Square Enix (well, really, Squaresoft, as these games were all made before the company merged with Enix) are going to be available on the network, starting on November 8 with Chrono Cross, the PlayStation sequel to the Super Nintendo classic Chrono Trigger.
A GAME I USED TO PLAY YAH THAT’S RIGHT I USED TO PLAY THAT ONE BACK WHEN IT WAS NEW YOU WHIPPERSNAPPERZ
A couple weeks after that, you’ll be able to get your hands on Final Fantasy V on November 22, and Final Fantasy VI on December 6. Those games are widely considered to be classics of the RPG genre, so if you haven’t checked them out, now’s your opportunity.
One thing worth noting: Mr. McCarter neglected to offer pricing information for the games, but I bet none of them are more than 12 bucks or so. Pretty good considering that all three are really highly regarded games in the genre. So if YOU like pretending to be some weird, androgynous anime-style dude with swords and magic and chocobos and shit, then these are the games for you.
