Today, Joystiq posted a story following up on yesterday’s discovery that some copies of Batman: Arkham City had errors on DLC cards. According to a reader of their site, Michel, Warner Bros. Interactive offered this five-step process to alleviate the suffering of anyone affected by the messed up Bat-cards. After contacting customer service, gather up your 1) proof of purchase/receipt of your new game purchase, 2) Your XBLA or PSN gamertag/profile, 3) e-mail address, 4) a scan or digital photo of your game disc and package, and 5) a scan or digital photo of both sides of your screwed up code card.

Do this, and you should get your shit all straightened out. The Joystiq post also points out that this is just the latest example of a publishers efforts to curb used-game buying backfiring; just last month, Ubisoft scrapped their Uplay Passport for Driver: San Francisco because of screwed up code-cards included with the games, which were necessary for accessing the game’s online features.

Chances are publishers will continue to push these different methods of new-game-purchase bonuses, but hopefully they’ll find more efficient and less mistake-prone ways of doing it.

Now, as a side-note, some of us have been playing Arkham City with no problems whatsoever—but something still feels missing. Well, Microsoft’s Google search engine, Bing, has been given a makeover to give us that last little bit of Bat-flavor to make us feel like the millionaire playboys we were all meant to be. Perhaps you need someone to bring you a frosty cold Bat-brew? Well, may I present to you, “Alfred: At Your Service.”

I’m afraid to search for Aunt Harriet. I’ll probably find some messed up jpegs.
