GameStop offers Arkham City Batman Costume DLC for Five Bucks

For anyone who’s been having a hard time deciding where to get their copy of Batman: Arkham City (hitting stores tomorrow) because of the various Bat-skin bonuses available, the point has just become moot. A couple days ago, GameStop posted the information for the Batman Arkham City Skins Pack DLC, which is not nearly as creepy as it sounds. For just five bucks, you’ll be able to switch out Batman’s wardrobe ‘til your heart’s content, with a total of seven alternate costumes/skins available for our Dark Knight.

What have we got? 1970’s comics Batman, Frank Miller’s Year One and Dark Knight Returns Batman(s), Geoff Johns’s Earth One Batman, Batman Begins Batman, Sinestro Corps Batman, and The Animated Series Batman.

In addition, over on ComicBookMovie.com, they’ve posted shots of two alternate skins for Catwoman: Year One and The Animated Series, though it’s not been stated how gamers will get those quite yet. Probably through DLC for a couple bucks. Lo-res screens are right here:

Now, as cool as these all are, there’s never been any information about whether or not (I’m guessing not) these alternate suits offer any gameplay bonuses, or if they’ll be on your character during the in-game cutscenes. And, personally, I like some degree of verisimilitude when I play my video games, which is why alternate costumes rarely get me too hyped up. Alternate characters and maps, on the other hand, are of great interest to me, which is why I’m looking forward to the Robin and Nightwing DLC that’s been announced…so there you go. If you like to play dress up with your Batmen, this is the news for you.

Batman: Arkham City drops tomorrow, and in case you missed it, I’ve heard it’s pretty good.

[Thanks to my buddy Collin for pointing this one out.]

I’m rushing through Arkham Asylum right now, trying to finally finish the darn thing. It’s a great looking game, but RAGE and a second playthrough of Bastion happen to be in my way currently.

Seems to be getting great scores across the board though. I guess it just comes down to whether or not you’ll be spending the entire game in detective mode again.

“In my day, we would only get 1 new skin as a pre-order bonus!”

Oh how things start getting more complicated with bonuses these days.

I still don’t see the Adam West 1960s Batman. WE NEED IT!

Agreed. Let’s start an angry petition now, and threaten to boycott if we don’t get it! And then not boycott!

So where exactly can we purchase this skin pack from? Is it going to be DLC on the marketplace or do we have to go to gamestop and ask about it. I for one don’t really feel like asking some sales person who doesn’t give a damn about what I’m talking about giving me judgy eyes.

The catwoman costumes already come with the catwomen code you heh when you buy the game but it’s has to be new because tees a code for catwoman separately ( it’s not actually part of the real game). I’ve already been using them for a while now.if anythings different know that I got my game from best buy, and it was a pee order. Hope it helped!
