Battlefield 3 Multiplayer Maps Detailed on Battleblog
Battlefield 3 is coming out in under two weeks, and to keep excitement at a fever pitch, DICE has posted some details and screenshots of four of the nine multliplayer maps over on the Battleblog. Tomorrow the other five maps are going to be posted with details, but for now, let’s take a look at what DICE has to offer.
The four maps they discuss today are Operation Firestorm, Operation Metro, Tehran Highway, and Damavand Peak. Operation Firestorm is one of the largest maps in the game, and “you could actually place three Atacama Deserts—one of the largest maps from Battlefield: Bad Company 2—within the playable area of Operation Firestorm,” says designer Niklas Åstrand.
If you’ve been playing the open beta, Operation metro is the map you’re probably pretty familiar with by now. Tehran Highway has a focus on urban combat, while the Damavand Peak features a 500 meter decent. Check out the blog for the full details on the maps, and enjoy the pretty screens below:

This is looking quit nice; I cannot wait to see Operation Firestorm especially when it looks like part of it will be on an oil plant. Explosions maybe?
OMG!!! STOP TEASING ME!!!!! I WANT THIS GAME SO FUCING AC ALREADY!!!!!!!!!!!!
Actually there is a developer commentary with plenty of gameplay of that particular map in question. Just look up “Battlefield 3: Operation Firestorm Commentary ” on Youtube. It’s a pretty sweet map.
When i saw that last screenshot i just screamed DUUUDE!!! And imagined jumping off from that landing.
Dude! if you look at operation metro pics. they completely changed the map! yes cause i hated that map! it was terrible. it actually looks incredibly fun now!
Tehran Highway and Damavand Peak look absolutely amazing, tehran especially. A city-esque Battlefield map? This should be good.
