Syndicate Reborn, Leaked On Origin

You hear that sound? That’s the sound of thousands of classic PC gamers both squealing and gasping for the leaked announcement of a new Syndicate game. They are squealing because this long-rumored reboot of the Bullfrog classic is officially coming courtesy of EA, and gasping because this game will not be a real-time tactical game, but rather a FPS in the same vein as Deus Ex: Human Revolution.

I’m sure you’re wondering how this information was released? Well, someone left the game’s profile and screenshots up on EA’s Origin store. Below is the copy text of the leaked game. Note the four player co-op, the leading role of Miles Kilo, and the way 2069 has transformed into a world of corporate owned syndicates. Currently working through Deus Ex: Human Revolution, I’m pretty interested in a new thoughtful FPS, but EA and developer Starbreeze are going to have to work hard if they don’t want their game to be a little bit “me too.” Plus, they are going to have to deal with all the grumpy gamers who are pissed this is not a tactical RTS. Bummer for them!
