Back in 2008, Hothead Games teamed up with Penny Arcade to create an episodic RPG starring the characters from Penny Arcade. Unortunately, after two episodes, Hothead ended development of the games, and On the Rain-Slick Precipice of Darkness was killed. Hothead went on to make Deathspank and Mike and Jerry kept on making PAX and comics.

However, in a pleasing surprise for PAX Prime, Zoyboyd Games has announced they will be picking up the development duties of the third episode of the game. Known for making Cthulhu Saves the World and Breath of Death VII: The Beginning, Zoyboyd will be bringing their retro aesthetic to the games as well. More details for the game will be announced at PAX East, and the graphics will have a new 16-bit art style. It’s a big change from the original, but for fans of the previous two episodes, this is great news.
