Launching as a paid MMO then going free to play is, like, SO last week. That’s why Trion announced that End of Nations will be F2P straight out of the gate.

Of course, if you have too much pesky money clogging up your wallet and bank account, you can pay money for the game in a few ways. There will be a Collector’s Edition of the game available at retail, as well as a monthly premium membership you can throw some dollars at. The subscription will entitle you to “significant value and convenience extras,” whatever that means.

Trion is careful to promise that End of Nations won’t be “pay to win.” Free players have access to the entire game and won’t be at a disadvantage to paid players in any way. I’m not entirely sure what you’ll get for your money in that case, but it’ll probably make sense when the game comes out by the end of this year.
