Ok I’ve done some research on this and found some interesting things. First off, the redirect doesn’t appear to be the work of Electronic Arts. If you look at a cached version of the website, you’ll find a page with this text:

Modern Warfare is crap. More direct, it states that “Modern Warfare 3 .com is a 100% unofficial fan site dedicated to the Modern Warfare series.   IF you haven’t figured it out yet, this site is a parody of Modern Warfare 3″ in the text in the bottom of the page.

Odds are someone swooped the domain before Modern Warfare 3 was a reality and is now using it to troll to maximum efficiency.

Although even that video denies any connection to ModernWarfare3.com, with the following annotation text:

I DID NOT CREATE MODERNWARFARE3.COM. I don’t know who the fuck decided to feature my video on there, but that website is not mine. Also note that I’m not a fan of Battlefield 3 and I think it looks generic as well, with the saving grace that it actually has effort put into it. Glad I could help.
