THQ Closes Homefront Dev Kaos

Citing the delightfully vague “strategic realignment,” THQ announced today that they are in the process of closing Kaos Studios (developers of Homefront and Frontlines: Fuel of War) and Digital Warrington (the UK studio behind Red Faction Battlegrounds and Warhammer 40K Kill Team).
This doesn’t mean that a Homefront sequel is dead in the water though. THQ is transferring development of that project to Montreal, who “actively collaborated with KAOS on Homefront” according to the press release.
Of course, THQ also took the opportunity to mention that they are actively hiring for their Montreal and Ontario, Canada and Austin, Texas positions. While I don’t know this is the case, I’m going to choose to believe all the employees that lost their positions turned down the option to move to one of those locations.
It’s nice, choosing your own reality.
