Duke Nukem Forever Gone Gold

So an Earth-rending earthquake didn’t hit. We now have an even more certain sign of the coming apocalypse. Duke Nukem Forever, the game that started development in 1997, is now gold. For the unfamiliar, that means that all development on the game is complete, it has passed certification, and it’s now ready for mass DVD / BluRay fabrication.

Duke Nukem Forever is complete.

I somehow expected that to feel special but it doesn’t, really. More like “we can finally move on.” Barring the aforementioned massive earthquake or world-consuming fire, Duke Nukem Forever will be available for purchase on June 14, 2011. Weird.
