Starhawk Announced as Spiritual Successor to Warhawk
2007′s Warhawk was a great third-person multiplayer experience on the PlayStation 3 that I particularly enjoyed for the vehicle combat. Unfortunately, the game’s launch was highlighted by lag and bad connections and its development house, Incognito Entertainment, is now defunct. However, many Incognito developers have reassembled under the LightBox Interactive banner and plan to honor Warhawk with a spiritual successor, Starhawk.
Starhawk will still feature awesome vehicle combat, but will also receive a “Build & Battle” system that allows players to drop new base structures, such as vehicle spawn points or walls, from orbit to quickly establish or shift front lines, and even squash enemies if they’re lucky. And unlike Warhawk, Starhawk will also have singleplayer content, which is a nice addition so long as LightBox keeps the main focus on multiplayer. Enjoy some screens while you’re waiting for the game to come out on PlayStation 3 sometime in 2012.
