There’re already quite a few folks in the Gears of War 3 beta, but if you’re like me, and your friends are, well, kinda lame, then they’ve probably missed-out on any opportunities to join you in the beta thus far. Never fear, however, because you can do all of the work for them with the “Never Fight Alone” promotion.
If you’ve played at least one game in the beta, you’ll receive a buddy token to invite a friend into the beta. And if one friend just isn’t enough, you can get four more tokens by doing the following:
- Buy Gears of War from Games on Demand, any Gears DLC, or a Gears Avatar
- Play 20 or more hours of the Gears 3 beta
- Buy a 12-month Gold subscription
- Play 100 hours of any Gears game, lifetime to date
You’ve got until May 4 to earn as many tokens as you can, which Microsoft will email out on May 8. But do yourself a favor, no matter how good the beta is, don’t catch yourself buying a game or extending your subscription for the exclusive purpose of getting into a beta. This paid beta and demo trend has got to stop. Gears 3 should be out on September 20, 2011
