It Begins Again: SEGA Announces New Sonic Game
Sega announced the previously-teased new Sonic game today, which means they also announced the start of a storied tradition in which nerds get inexplicably excited about a sub-par platforming series, only to be disappointed yet again by the reality that Sonic really isn’t that good.
So yeah, Sonic Generations.
This game serves as Sonic’s 20th anniversary celebration, and combines both old and new school styles of Sonic play. The trailer (exclusive to IGN… for now) shows 2D side-scrolling gameplay and 3D Sonic Adventure style levels, both ether inspired by or directly recreated from legacy levels from older Sonic games.
Even though I couldn’t care less about Sonic (was that not obvious?), I have to admit, these screenshots look damn good. There may… just may be hope for this one yet. Sonic Generations is in development for the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, to be released this Holiday.

still not getting it
not going to get this i have had enough of gimmick sonic games even with bad-ish and glitch filled gameplay ill rather have a deep story continuing with their deep life filled world shown in the adventure series and the spin off shadow the hedgehog. some of my favorate games ever with a dark, intresting and action packed story just not always up to scratch in gameplay but it is forgiven many times over. oh and i miss the chao (they make my heart melt).
It may look pretty but the gameplay probably still sucks, don’t think I can take another chance with them again after their dire attempt with “Sonic The Hedgehog” in 2006. Still haven’t managed to get an achievement on that game.
