The Witcher: Versus Hits iPhone

Released in 2007, The Witcher is still one of the best RPGs on the PC. (Don’t tell anyone, but I think it kicks any Dragon Age game right in the teeth.) One of the best features of the game was how your decisions really seemed to matter; even several hours later you’d still be feeling the consequences of your actions. Oh yeah, and you got to have tons of sex, and were rewarded for your exploits with a sexy trading card. Unfortunately, CD Projekt never released those cards in tangible format, so there’s no way to take your sexy cards on the go. At least now there’s an iPhone game, right?

The Witcher: Versus, which requires iOS 3.0, is a dueling game with RPG elements and is currently on launch sale for $0.99. It was developed by EA’s mobile studio, Chillingo. There’s no indication as to whether you’ll be able to unlock new cards in this version, but for that price, it doesn’t hurt to find out.

In related news, The Witcher 2 will be coming to PC, PlayStation 3, and Xbox 360 later this year.

  1. I really enjoyed the combat system from the last game. I wonder if there will be some sort of mini campaign or story with it.
