Risen 2: Dark Waters Announced

Yo-ho-ho! Fantasy RPG Risen is getting all pirated up with Risen 2, where world-rending titans come face-to-face with mighty swashbucklers — Captain Jack Sparrow not included.

There’s no release date yet, but publisher Deep Silver has at least officially announced that Piranha Bytes is developing Risen 2: Dark Waters, in which you’ll embark on an island hopping adventure to stop the plague of sea monsters that has halted seafaring trade. The game looks to have undergone a lot of changes since the original’s outing in 2009. Compare the shot of Risen (below) to Risen 2 concept art (even belower).

    Why do the environments remind me of Far Cry?
    Oh,wait.Because it’s the same darned setting.
    I don’t care how many blooms,shadows and blurs they put in,it looks like Far Cry to me.

    A FarCry RPG sounds sweet as hell.
