Bioware… I’m getting mixed signals here. First you say I shouldn’t expect anything, then you send me a pair of underwear in the mail. What’s the deal here?

Bioware Writer David Gaider shut down the demo discussion on the Bioware forums yesterday with the following message:

The demo is not “confirmed”. We have made no official announcement. This is speculation, and no matter what it’s based on it shouldn’t be so misleading. Regardless of what you think we should or shouldn’t be doing (it’s not my place to give info) please keep the fact that this is still all speculation in mind and that you’re self-referencing here.

Not 24 hours later, a press release started making the rounds announcing the demo for Dragon Age II. You know, that one that hasn’t been announced yet, even though it has. The release promises a demo for every platform, allowing you to play through the game’s prologue and unlock a special weapon you can then use in the full game when it comes out.

A bit of a crossed wire at Bioware, but this story had happy end after all. I’m looking forward to the demo just to make sure it hasn’t gone all… console on me. Yeah I said it.
