Final Fantasy XIII-2 Domain Registered

Old domain registrant guru Supererogatory (Superannuation) notes via Twitter that someone has registered the domain for FinalFantasy13-2Game.com. While it’s possible that this tips Square’s plans for a full-on sequel to Final Fantasy XIII, my web sense tells me this is just a cyber squatter.

First of all, the website for the original game finalfantasyxiii.com is registered to the following:

Now, Square is planning an event on January 18 to announce some titles. It’s possible Square is locking down this URL in advance of the official announcement of Final Fantasy XIII-2, but I wouldn’t count on it. Square already has Final Fantasy XIII spinoffs planned, and they have much more obtuse titles than “2.”

Good thing too, the world doesn’t need any more Final Fantasy XIII. Yeah that’s right, I went there.
