Long Live Halo Wars!

It looks like Halo Wars has gotten a reprieve. Last month, they announced that Halo Wars stat tracking would be removed in mid-December. Needless to say, fans went nuts. Threats ensued and I believe one guy actually threw a temper tantrum.

Turns out, the negative fan reaction was heard, and the Waypoint website announced that stat tracking will not die! 343 Industries, the folks who handle Halo Wars since Ensemble went kaput, doesn’t have a full plan as to how to handle the stat tracking, but they promise it will not disappear.

Some of their concern was due to the fact that fans of other Halo games were worried about stat tracking on their titles too? If Halo Wars could be discontinued, what’s to stop them from discontinuing Halo: ODST or Halo 3? Basically, the freak out by the fans saved the game from losing stats.
